as the University of
North Alabama women’s
basketball team downed
Henderson State 81-68
Thursday evening at
Flowers Hall. With the
home-opening victory,
the Lions improve to 2-3
on the season and hand
the Lady Reddies (2-1)
their first loss of the
season.
York had 12 points in
the second half as the
Lions added to their
41-29 half-time
advantage. Harris had 15
points and 11 rebounds
while Dan a Jackson
added 16 points on the
night for UNA. Sanqueeta
Meardith also had a
solid performance with
eight points and 10
rebounds for the Lions.
North Alabama used an
aggressive style that
produced 51 free throw
attempts for the game.
The Lions connected on
41 shots from the foul
line while two different
HSU players fouled out
of the game. The Lady
Reddies also had two
technical fouls on the
night.
The Lions will be back
in action at home
Saturday against
Ouachita Baptist.
Tip-off against the Gulf
South Conference West
Division squad is set
for 5 p.m. at Flowers
Hall.
