FLORENCE, Ala. -- Tampa's Cici Gonzalez scored a goal with two seconds left in regulation play to lift the Spartans to a 1-0 win over North Alabama in the second round of the NCAA Division II Super Region Tournament at the UNA Soccer Field.


The loss ended UNA's season at 15-3-2. Tampa advances to meet Barry in the round of 16. Tampa is now 13-4-5.



Prior to the loss, North Alabama had a 15-0-1 record this season when allowing one goal or less in a match.


The two teams battled to a scoreless tie through the first 89 minutes of the match with North Alabama holding a 16-12 advantage in shots. UT goalkeeper Caroline Frykgard recorded five saves, while UNA's Shelby Thornton had two.


Gonzalez then delivered the game-winner at the 89:58 mark off an assist from Natasia Asgedom.


The post-season appearance in the NCAA Tournament was the sixth for North Alabama in the last seven seasons.
