JACKSON, Tenn. – The University of North Alabama's hopes of advancing to the 2016 Gulf South Conference women's soccer tournament ended Saturday when the Lions dropped a 1-0 decision at Union.
With the loss, the Lions finish their regular season at 8-8 overall and 7-5 in the GSC to rank seventh. With the win, Union takes the sixth and final spot in the GSC tournament with a 7-4-5 overall record and 6-2-4 GSC mark.
Kayleigh Patterson scored the only goal of the match at the 20:40 mark off an assist from Kelsey Walker.
UNA out-shot the Bulldogs 14 to six but the Lions could never find the back of the net.
