LOUISVILLE, Ky., – The University of North Alabama softball team climbed two spots to No. 6 in the latest NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. After reaching its highest ranking in program history a week ago at No. 8, UNA continued to reach new heights after picking up three victories over the weekend.
A three-game Gulf South Conference sweep at Shorter gave the Lions a 21-4 record on the season with a 7-2 mark in GSC play. UNA continues to lead Division in total victories, edging out top-ranked West Texas A&M (20-0).
Two other GSC teams remained in the rankings with another receiving votes. UAH (18-3) dropped on spot to No. 3, while Valdosta State (12-6-1) fell three spots to No. 21.
