WEBBER, SOUSA LEAD LIONS TO 2-0 WIN OVER SHORTER
ROME, Ga. – The University of North Alabama got an early goal in the 11^th minute and added a security goal in the second half for a 2-0 women's soccer win over Shorter in the Lions' Gulf South Conference opener.
 
Stacey Webber scored from 20 yards out off an assist from Margarida Sousa at the 10:21 mark to put UNA on top 1-0. The next North Alabama goal came at 74:28 when Webber scored for the second time this season, off an assist from Webber.
 
UNA out-shot Shorter 14-7 and Kate Webster recorded two saves to post a shut-out in goal.
 
With the win,  UNA improves to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the GSC. Shorter is now 0-4.
