Box Score KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State scored a run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to take a 7-6 ASUN Conference baseball win over North Alabama.
UNA had tied the game at 6-6 with two runs in the eighth but the Owls managed to load the bases in their final at bat and claimed the win with a game-winning RBI-single from Tyler Tolve.
With the loss, North Alabama drops to 3-18 overall and 0-2 in the ASUN. It was the Lions sixth straight loss overall.
UNA took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning when
Davis Elliott singled,
Ben Kiefer walked and Elliott scored ith on the back end of a double steal.
Landon Langston then tripled in Kiefer for a 2-0 lead.
Kennesaw State scored a run in the first and took a 4-2 lead with three more runs in the third.
North Alabama got a run back in the fourth when
Reid Homan doubled and scored on a
Harris Kain double.
The Lions tied the game in the fifth as
Colt Chrestman singled and scored on a
Tate Mathis sacrifice to make it 4-4.
Kennesaw State regained the lead with single runs in the fifth and seventh innings before UNA tied the game in the eighth. Mathis was hit-by-pitch and Kiefer singled. Langston drove in a run on a fielder's choice and
Peyton Sockwell singled in the tying tun.
Keegan Foge (0-1) took the loss for UNA, pitching two and a third innings and allowing one run on four hits.
The series with Kennesaw State concludes with a game on Sunday.
