FLORENCE, Ala. -- North Alabama scored eight runs on seven hits but came out on the short end of a 13-8 decision to Stetson at Mike Lane Field in the second game of a three-game ASUN Conference baseball series.
UNA fell behind 4-0 in the top of the second inning but got three back in the bottom of the frame on a three-run
Landon Langston home run. Each team added a run to make it 5-4 before Stetson pushed its advantage to 7-4 with two runs in the fifth. The Lions got a run back in the sixth but the Hatters got four in the eighth to make it 11-5. North Alabama got three in the bottom of the eighth but Stetson added two insurance runs in the ninth for the 13-8 victory.
UNA is now 4-21 overall and 0-5 in ASUN play. Stetson improved to 12-14 overall and 2-0 in the ASUN.
UNA starter
Kyle Moore (0-2) took the loss. He allowed six runs on seven hits over four innings. Only three of the runs were earned. He walked two and struckout three.
Hunter Davidson pitched three and two-thirds innings and gave up five runs on four hits. Bryant pitched one third of an inning and
Nick Cummings allowed two runs on two hits in the ninth inning.
Langston's home run in the second inning was just UNA's fourth of the season and was the first by a Lion batter since March 3.
Reid Homan had an RBI-triple and reached base four times, scoring twice.
Ben Kiefer had two hits for UNA, including a two-run single in the eighth.
The Lions and Hatters will play the final game of the series Sunday at noon.
