FLORENCE, Ala. -- The University of North Alabama women's soccer team overcame a 2-0 deficit in the second half to earn a 2-2 draw in two overtimes with Bellarmine in an ASUN Conference divisional match.
After a scoreless first half, Bellarmine netted two goals early in the second half as Regan Kommor scored at the 51:01 mark and Brielle Heuglin added a second goal at 56:39.
North Alabama rebounded with a blast from distance from
Alice Bussey that went past a leaping Knights' goalkeeper and into the net to cut the deficit to 2-1. The goals came at 69:12 in the match.
The Lions then tied the match as
Kate Wiseman bent a corner kick into the net to make it 2-2 at 81:58.
Neither team could score in the final minutes of regulation, or in the two 10-minute overtime periods.
North Alabama is now 2-11-3 overall and 1-5-1 in conference play. Bellarmine is 3-5-7 overall and 1-4-2 in league play.
UNA was out-shot 12-10 in the match, with Lion goalkeeper
Payton Yates recording seven saves.
North Alabama plays at Lipscomb on Sunday.
