FLORENCE, Ala. -- A goal by
Zoe Ellis tied the match with just under 28 minutes to play but the University of North Alabama could not get a go-ahead score and settled for a 1-1 women's soccer tie with Liberty in two overtimes.
Liberty took a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute as Kasey Jamieson scored her third goal of the season.
The Lady Flames held the lead until the 72:28 mark when Ellis scored off an assist from
Grace Lensing.
Neither team could score over the final minutes or regulation or in two, 10-minute overtime periods.
With its second consecutive tie in ASUN Conference play, UNA is 1-6-2 overall and 0-4-2 in the ASUN.
North Alabama out shot Liberty 17 to eight in the matchm inckuding 13 in the second half with the wind.
UNA's
Payton Yates recorded two saves in goal.
The goal by Ellis was the first by a Lion since March 4 against Lipscomb and snapped a scoreless streak of 509 minutes.
