LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The University of North Alabama's 2021 women's soccer season came to an end with a 4-1 loss at Liberty in the opening round of the ASUN Conference Tournament.
UNA got on the board first with a goal from freshman
Chloe Fell just 1:29 into the match. It was her second goal of the season and came off an assist from
Alice Bussey.
The Lions maintained that 1-0 lead until the 27th minute when Liberty tied the match with a goal from Kasey Jamieson.
The Flames then got a go-ahead goal less than three minutes before intermission on a goal by Maddy Oliver to make it 2-1.
Liberty then added insurance goals in the 85th and 89th minutes for a final 4-1 advantage.
UNA was held to just five total shots, but four were on goal, while Liberty had 17 total shots with 10 on target. North Alabama goalkeeper
Payton Yates had six saves.
The Lions finished the season with a 1-9-2 overall record.
