LIONS ADDD THREE BASEBALL SIGNEES

FLORENCE, Ala. -- University of North Alabama Head Baseball Coach jad Prachniak has announced three additions to his Lion baseball team with the signing of transfers right-handed pitcher Justus Agosto, right-handed pitcher/infielder Kyle Machado and infielder Jackson Ferrigno.

Agosto is a native of Langhorne, Pa., who was redshirted at the University of New Orleans in 2022. He pitched for the Delray Beach Lightning in the South Florida Collegiate League this summer and threw 32 innings with 27 strikeouts. He held opponents to a .173 batting average.

Machado, from Punta Gorda, Fla., played the last three seasons at FGCU and made 15 pitching appearances last season with four starts, and had 25 plate appearances. He had 114 career at bats at FGCU, highlighted by a .320 batting average in 2020.

This summer he played for the Phipps Park Barracudas in the South Florida Collegiate League where he hit .311 with a .456 on base percentage and a .556 slugging percentage. He also pitched 22 innings and recorded 27 strikeouts, while holding opponents to a .231 batting average against him. He played at Charlotte High School where he earned Sunpreps All-Area honors three years in a row and was named the Sunpreps Baseball Player of the Year after his junior season.

Ferrigno was redshirted last season at the University of Connecticut. He played for the Norwich Sea Unicorns in the Futures Collegiate Baseball Leaguethis summer and hit .255 with 14 extra base hits.

A Farmington, Conn., native, Ferrigno prepped at Farmington High School where he was a two-time all-conference performer and earned all-state and All-American recognition as well.
