GADSDEN, Ala. -- With three individuals among the top ten golfers, the University of North Alabama men's golf team is in third place after two rounds of the Graeme McDowell Invitational at RTJ at Silver Lakes.
The Lions had an opening round 302 team score, then trimmed six strokes off that total for a 296 in the second round. North Alabama is 22-over-par at 598, while Louisiana leads the event at 11-over. Lipscomb is second at 19-over-par.
UNA is followed by UAB, Jacksonville, Troy, Lamar, Tarleton State, Jacksonville State, Charleston Southern, Campbell and USC Upstate.
Andre Jacobs is North Alabama's top individual with a 147 two-round total. He tied for third. UNA's
Carter Goodwin and
Henry Frizzell are tied for ninth at 149, while
Francois Jacobs is tied for 33rd (153) and Xing "Eric" Luo is tied for 62nd (161).
The final round of the 12-team tournament is scheduled for Tuesday.
