Four Lions named to NFL Draft Diamonds Watch List

Reddick, White-Schultz, Bratton, Kenebrew named on small school prospect list

FLORENCE, Ala. (June 26, 2024) – The University of North Alabama football program had four players named to the 2025 Small School Prospect Watch List by NFL Draft Diamonds this week, including safeties Gregory Reddick and Edwin White Schultz, incoming transfer linebacker Jackson Bratton and wide receiver Takairee Kenebrew.

The NFL Draft Diamonds website is dedicated to discovering underrated football players from non-FBS levels, including FCS, Division II, Division III, NAIA and USports levels.

"I'm excited to see these four guys making this preseason list as their hard work starts to reap the benefits," said UNA head coach Brent Dearmon, who enters his second season in 2024. "Their leadership and commitment to this team is making us better every day. They have helped UNA promote the brand to the nation."

Gregory Reddick – Defensive Back – Miami, Fla.

Reddick started all 11 games in 2023 and made a tremendous impact at the safety position. He ranked second on the team with 71 tackles, 47 solo tackles and 6.0 tackles for loss. Reddick had at least five tackles in eight of the 11 games, including a season-high 13 in a win over FCS playoff qualifier Chattanooga.

Reddick also made perhaps the most impactful play for UNA in the 2023 season, as he broke up a go-ahead two-point conversion pass with 31 seconds to go in a thrilling 31-30 victory over Utah Tech. The redshirt junior dove in the back of the endzone to knock the ball away from receiver Rickie Johnson to keep his team in the lead. Reddick also had an interception against EKU. He finished with second team all-conference honors from FCS Football Central.   Edwin White Schultz – Defensive Back – Mobile, Ala.

White Schultz was the defensive leader for UNA with 87 tackles on the season, including 49 solo tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks. He also had three pass-breakups, one hurry, a forced fumble and one recovery. White Schultz landed first team all-conference honors from both the United Athletic Conference and FCS Football Central and second team honors from Phil Steele.

The Kansas transfer had 14 tackles, a forced fumbles and a tackle for loss in his UNA debut against Mercer, leading the nation in tackles after the first week of action. He went on to have four games with double-digit tackles and seven games with at least one tackle for loss or assist. He also had three pass breakups, including a noteworthy one against Austin Peay to break up a third down conversion and ignite a late second half comeback attempt where UNA outscored the Govs 21-10 in the second half in a close 49-39 loss. Jackson Bratton – Linebacker – Muscle Shoals, Ala.

Rounding out the UNA defensive players on the NFL Draft Diamonds list is Bratton, a former Muscle Shoals High School standout who will spend his final season of eligibility with the Lions. A four-star recruit on all major recruiting sites out of high school, Bratton committed to Alabama and spent two seasons with the Crimson Tide before transferring to UAB. With the Blazers, he tallied 89 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss over two seasons. He had two games with 11 tackles against N.C. A&T and Navy.

Bratton saw his first action at UNA's 2024 "Purple vs. White" Spring Game in March. The Muscle Shoals native had multiple tackles for Team White en route to a 33-22 victory. Takairee Kenebrew – Wide Receiver – Childersburg, Ala.

Earlier this month, Kenebrew was listed in the FCS Football Central Top 10 Returning FCS Wide Receivers list as the ninth-ranked returner. Kenebrew began his storied journey at UNA in 2018 and took a redshirt, an injury redshirt and added another year of eligibility from the shortened COVID-19 season. Since then, Kenebrew has totaled 98 catches for 1,838 yards and 26 touchdowns over three seasons.

Last season, Kenebrew finished with 42 catches for 669 yards and 10 scores. The Childersburg, Ala. native tied Hall and Ed Gant for the single season touchdown reception record with the 10 scores. Three of his 10 touchdowns came in a win over Chattanooga, earning him the inaugural United Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor in Week 1.

Kenebrew earned second team All-UAC honors from both Phil Steele and FCS Football Central.

With one year of eligibility left, Kenebrew announced on social media this past January that he would play his final season at North Alabama. He currently holds the school record with 26 career touchdown receptions, passing UNA legend Dre Hall with a touchdown catch against No. 4 Florida State. UNA will open the 2024 season at the FCS Kickoff on Saturday, August 24 at 6 p.m. against Southeast Missouri at the historic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. This game will air nationally on ESPN and will be ESPN's first primetime football game of the 2024 season.
