Lions suffer second loss of season at Chattanooga, 1-0

Both losses have only been by one goal this season

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (September 7, 2025) – The University of North Alabama soccer team fell to Chattanooga 1-0 on Sunday night in Finley Stadium. The Lions lose for just the second time this season, ending a five-match unbeaten streak.

North Alabama (3-2-2) had five shots on the night with one being on goal. Five different Lions created the five shots. Alana Owens recorded the lone shot on goal. UNA added three corner kicks for the night game.

Chattanooga (5-1-1) is now on a five game win streak after the 36th minute goal from Caroline Richvalsky.

The Mocs were aggressive and all over the offensive side of the field. Richvalsky placed herself nicely in the box, as she received the pass from Abbey Marak. Richvalsky seemed to hacky-sack it as it almost kissed the top bar, but ultimately was out of reach for the leaping goalkeeper Madison Vukas to make a play on it.

Vukas added four saves for the night and faced 10 shots in the 90 minutes she played.

Alongside the keeper, four Lions saw full time in midfielder Adelyn Speight, midfielder Molly Parham, defender Gracie Tyrrell and defender Lilly Ford

Eighteen players saw action for the Lions on Thursday. Defender Langley Wallace played 67 minutes off the bench, while Anna Fugarino logged the next most with 39 and was one of five players to record a shot.

Looking ahead, North Alabama gets a week worth of rest before heading back to Cookeville, Tenn. to play Tennessee Tech at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14.
