Eddie Frost, a Sheffield, Ala., native was a four-year letterman and starter in baseball from 1958-61, and also lettered four years and started three years in basketball from 1957-58 and 1960-61. He helped take UNA to the NAIA National Championship Tournament in 1959-60. He averaged 11.0 points per game as a senior, with 310 points in 28 games and added 140 rebounds for a 5.0 average per game.
In baseball he was selected as the team MVP as a junior and was a steady performer throughout his four-year career with the Lions.
Following his career at UNA he coached at Applebee Junior High from 1961-66 and had a 214-18 record. He was 253-180 as a coach at Bradshaw High School from 1966-84 and led the Bruins to the 1976 Class 4A State Championship.
At the time of his induction he was in his fourth term as the Mayor of Florence.
He is deceased.
