ONEONTA, Ala. (September 21, 2024) – The University of North Alabama men's golf team heads to Oneonta, Ala. from Sept. 22-24 for the GMAC Invitational, hosted by UAB at Limestone Springs Golf Club. This follows the cancelation of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate due to inclement weather, where the Lions had a first round lead before the cancelation.

NOTES 

KAISER BEAM: Senior Chase Kaiser participated as an individual in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate in Apex, N.C. before it was canceled due to inclement weather. At the time of the cancelation, the Lions as a whole led the tournament, while Kaiser held a five-way tie for first at one-under-par.
 
THE BREAKDOWN: UAB is the host school for the tournament, where a total of 14 teams will compete for the tournament. North Alabama tees off on Sept. 22 starting at 8:45 a.m. The Lions will tee off on Hole 1 roughly 10 minutes apart, starting with Eric Luo in the first group. with Lipscomb and Memphis. Kaiser will participate as an individual at 9:30 a.m. The course is a par 72 and spans 6,987 yards. Notable teams competing in the tournament include Alabama-based opponents UAB, Jacksonville State, Samford, Troy and Alabama State. 
 
LAST TIME OUT: The Lions opened the season in Apex, N.C. for the Wolfpack Intercollegiate hosted by N.C. State that included ASUN opponents Bellarmine, Jacksonville and Queens. The tournament planned for 36 holes on Sept. 16 and 18 more on Sept. 17 for all 13 teams. During round one of the tournament, where the Lions led the field, the course had taken on several inches of water with the expectation of at least three more before the end of the day. This led to N.C. State canceling the tournament.
