FLORENCE, Ala. –
Chloe Richards scored two goals and the University of North Alabama defense held West Georgia without a shot on goal as the Lions picked up a 2-0 Gulf South Conference win over the Wolves.
With the win, UNA is now 8-1-1 overall and 4-1 in the GSC. West Georgia falls to 5-5-1 and 3-3-1 in the GSC.
Richards scored just 1:27 into the match off an assist from
Eleanor Costello but that was the only goal of the first half. Richards found the back of the net again in the 64th minute off an assist from
Kylie Huey to make it 2-0.
Richards now has 16 goals this season and 57 during her career at UNA.
North Alabama out-shot West Georgia 20 to seven. UWG's Katie Miklassich recorded five saves and allowed two goals.
UNA hosts Spring Hill Thursday in another GSC match.
