Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. -- The University of North Alabama scored three goals in a 13-minute span of the second half to overcome a 1-0 deficit and down Nova Southeastern 3-1 in women's soccer.
Nova Southeastern got its goal with just three seconds left in the first half and held that advantage until the 55th minute when UNA's
Chloe Richards netted her third goal of the season off a free kick to tie the match at 1-1. It was Richards 44th career goal.
Freshman
Margarida Sousa then scored her first goal of the season off an assist from
Eleanor Costello at the 65:09 mark to give the Lions a 2-1 advantage. Just over two minutes later, freshman
Kylie Huey scored her first goal off an assist from Richards at the 67:27 mark to make the final count 3-1.
North Alabama, now 2-0-1, outshot the host Sharks 21 to 18 and had 10 shots on goal.
