PALM BEACH, Fla. --
Chloe Richards scored two first half goals and the University of North Alabama women's soccer team rolled to a 3-1 win over Palm Beach Atlantic Sunday.
The win completed a two-game road sweep for the Lions over Sunshine State Conference opponents. UNA downed Nova Southeastern 3-1 on Friday.
North Alabama is now 3-0-1 overall and hosts Alabama-Huntsville in a Gulf South Conference match on Thursday (Sept. 17) at 7 p.m.
North Alabama dominated Sunday's match in the first half as the Lions took 19 shots to just five for the Sailfish. Seven of UNA's first half shots were on goal as PBA's Kayla Wincko recorded five saves in addition to allowing the two goals.
The first goal of the match came on a penalty kick by Richards at the 18:03 mark of the first half. That goal gave Richards at least one in each of UNA's four matches this season.
Just over 10 minutes later, at 28:58, Richards scored again, this time on a header off an assist from
Stacey Webber. It was her fifth goal of the year and 46th of her career.
PBA got on the board in the 71st minute as Jamie Montgomery scored unassisted to cut UNA's lead to 2-1.
The Lions got the goal back six minutes later when
Kylie Huey scored her second goal of the season unassisted at the 76:31 mark.
UNA finished with 31 shots to 16 for the Sailfish.
Shelby Thornton had seven saves for the Lions and allowed one goal.
