FLORENCE, Ala. – The University of North Alabama overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit with three second half goals to post a 3-1 win in a Gulf South Conference women's soccer match .
With the win, UNA improves to 5-6 overall and 4-3 in the GSC. Delta State is now 4-9 overall and 0-8 in the GSC.
DSU got the only goal of the first half on a free kick from Lakyn Cryder from 30 yards out at the 13:25 mark.
UNA tied the match in the 59
th minute when
Kylie Huey scored off an assist from
Eleanor Costello. It was Huey's eighth goal of the season.
The Lions took the lead at 70:08 as
Margarida Sousa scored off an assist from
Shelby Wall.
The final UNA goal came at 73:11 off the foot of
Eleanor Costello.
UNA out-shot DSU 26 to three.
North Alabama hosts Mississippi College Sunday at 1 p.m.
