MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of North Alabama women's soccer team kept its hopes for a spot in the 2016 Gulf South Conference Tournament alive with a solid 2-0 road win at Christian Brothers.
The win moves UNA into a tie for sixth in the GSC standings, with the top six teams advancing to the post-season tournament. The Lions are now 8-7 overall and 7-4 in the GSC. UNA is tied with Union for sixth place and will face the Bulldogs Sunday at 2 p.m. in Jackson, Tenn., with a post-season bid on the line.
In the win at CBU, the Lions scored a goal in each half to pick up their fourth win in their last five matches.
Stacey Webber got UNA on the board at 42:20 of the first half with a goal off an assist from
Eleanor Costello. It was Webber's second goal of the season.
Kylie Huey made it 2-0 with her 10
th goal of the season at 56:31 off an assist from
Shelby Wall.
UNA's
Kate Webster had one save and recorded a shutout in goal.
