MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- A pair of goals by
Kylie Huey in the final 22 minutes helped the University of North Alabama women's soccer team overcome a 2-1 deficit and post a 3-2 road win over Barry.
UNA trailed 1-0 early but a goal by
Shelby Wall in the 61st minute tied the match. Barry went back on top in the 61st minute before Huey put two shots in the back of the net in less than two minutes to give UNA the lead for good.
With the win, UNA is now 1-1 overall. Barry falls to 1-1.
Amanda Traynor scored the first goal of the match for Barry at the 26:59 mark before Wall tied it at 41:40 off an assist from
Tay Cavett. It was Wall's second goal of the season.
Gabby Sanon put Barry back on top at 60:38 and the lead would hold for eight minutes until Huey scored unassisted at 68:41. The game winner came off the foot of Huey at 71:00 off an assist from
Beatriz Fernandes.
UNA was out-shot 15 -14 in the match and the Lions' goalkeeper
Shelby Thornton recorded four saves.
Huey, a junior from Arlington, Tenn., now has 19 career goals at North Alabama.
UNA opens its home schedule on Friday night with a Gulf South Conference match against Christian Brothers at 7 p.m.
