BIRMINGHAM, Ala., – UAB posted narrow wins in all three doubles matches and added six singles victories, including a trio of three-set finishes in a 7-0 home victory over the University of North Alabama women's tennis team on Tuesday. With the loss, UNA drops to 2-9 on the season.

After getting a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, the Blazers won the doubles point with a pair of 6-4 victories a the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.

In singles play, UAB clinched the match with straight-set victories at the No. 2, No. 5 and No. 4 positions. The remaining three matches each went three sets. Megan Humphreys posted a 6-3 win in the opening set at No. 3 singles. The Blazers, however, rallied to win the next set 6-3 before getting the tiebreaker.

Following a 6-2 loss in the opening set at No. 1 singles, Sydney Flesch rallied for a 7-6 victory, only to fall in another tiebreaker. Nicole Reilly also won her opening set 6-4 at No. 6 before falling 7-5 in the second set and again in the third tiebreaker of the day.

UNA will host Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday. Match time is set for 11 a.m. at the UNA Varsity Tennis Courts.
