LYNCHBURG, Va. -- North Alabama managed just two hits and was shutout for the second game in a row as Liberty picked up a 7-0 win over the Lions in ASUN Conference baseball play.
Liberty scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, then added two more in the sixth and three in the eight for the 7-0 win.
With the loss, UNA is 1-11 overall and 0-2 in the ASUN. Liberty is now 9-5 overall and 2-0 in league play.
North Alabama's only hits in the contest were a double by
Drew Hudson and a single by
Devne Daniel. Hudson provided the only hit for UNA on Friday with a third inning single.
UNA starter
Chase Best (0-3) shutout the Flames for three innings but allowed four runs on six hits over five innings to take the loss. He walked five and struckout three. Bryce Parrish pitched the final three innings and allowed three runs on three hits with one walk and one strikeout.
The Lions and Flames conclude the series on Sunday with a noon start scheduled.
