LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty held a slim 1-0 lead at intermission but added three second half goals as the Flames downed North Alabama 4-0 in ASUN Conference women's soccer action.
The loss drops UNA to 1-8-2 overall and 0-2 in the ASUN. Liberty is now 7-3-1 overall and 2-0 in the ASUN.
After 35 scoreless minutes, the Flames got on the board with a Rebekah Earnest goal at the 35:09 mark.
In the second half, Liberty added goals in the 48
th, 59
th and 69 minutes to make the final count 4-0.
North Alabama was out-shot 13 to three in the match, but the Lions did have two shots on goal by
Montana Merkle and
Abby Patterson.
