LIONS DROP ASUN SOCCER MATCH AT LIBERTY

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty held a slim 1-0 lead at intermission but added three second half goals as the Flames downed North Alabama 4-0 in ASUN Conference women's soccer action.
 
The loss drops UNA to 1-8-2 overall and 0-2 in the ASUN. Liberty is now 7-3-1 overall and 2-0 in the ASUN.
 
After 35 scoreless minutes, the Flames got on the board with a Rebekah Earnest goal at the 35:09 mark.
 
In the second half, Liberty added goals in the 48th, 59th and 69 minutes to make the final count 4-0.
 
North Alabama was out-shot 13 to three in the match, but the Lions did have two shots on goal by Montana Merkle and Abby Patterson.
 
UNA goalkeeper Payton Yates had five saves for the Lions.
 
North Alabama hosts Stetson on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in UNA's ASUN home opener.
