FLORENCE, Ala. (September 17, 2023) – The University of North Alabama soccer team found themselves in a scoreless tie with Queens University Charlotte on Sunday, extending their unbeaten streak to seven — a new Division I program record.
North Alabama broke the previous record set last season when the Lions opened up 2022 with a 3-0-3 record. The Lions boast a record of 5-0-2 across their last seven matches.
The Lions dominated in shots, 20-4, as well as corners, 8-0. North Alabama has now out-shot opponents 135-63 on the season and has earned 55 corners while limiting opponents to just 18.
North Alabama created several chances, including three shots in the final five minutes of play but could not find the back of the net. Queens goalkeeper Erica Turner stopped a shot from Gracie Tyrrell with just under five minutes remaining to keep the score even. Izzi Gurney-Harper and Giada Aldini both found shots just wide of the net in the final two minutes from set pieces.
UNA has only allowed its opponents to tally 30 shots on goal so far this season. The Lions have allowed 12 fewer shots on target than any other program in the ASUN with the Lions having played two more games than the next closest team
North Alabama moves to 5-2-3 (1-0-1 ASUN) on the season, while the Royals move to 2-4-2 (0-1-1 ASUN).

UNA leads the ASUN in fewest goals against (4) and are allowing their opponents just 0.4 goals per game.
