Stetson Series History: North Alabama has met with Stetson on three prior occasions with North Alabama having won each meeting with the Hatters. The Lions took the most recent matchup between the two squads in a 2-1 victory in the 2021 season. UNA has a 2-0 record over Stetson in games played in Florence.
Scouting the Hatters: Stetson enters Thursday's match with a record of 1-7-1 (1-1-0 ASUN). Stetson is coming off of a 2-1 loss to North Florida on Sunday. Stetson defeated Jacksonville 1-0 in the conference opener. The Hatters are led by Chris Bergmann who is in his fifth season with the program. Bergmann has a record of 16-48-7 at the helm of the Stetson women's soccer program.
FGCU Series History: FGCU has met with UNA on three separate occasions, with the Eagles taking a victory in all three meetings with the Lions. Two of the three FGCU victories over the Lions have come in Florence at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex. The Eagles won the previous meeting 2-0 in 2021.
Scouting the Eagles: FGCU enters their Thursday match with Central Arkansas holding a 5-3-1 record (2-0-0 ASUN). The Eagles have defeated North Florida and Jacksonville in conference play so far this season. The Eagles are led by head Coach Jim Blankenship who is in his 17th season with the program. Blankenship is ranked 6th among active Division I head coaches with 441 career wins.
Queens Recap: North Alabama extended their unbeaten streak to seven following a scoreless tie with Queens. The Lions dominated the match in shots, 20-4, and corners 8-0, but could not find the back of the net. North Alabama peppered the Queens backstop, tallying three shots in the final five minutes of play, but the match would end 0-0
Lucky Number Seven: With a 0-0 draw with Queens on Sunday, North Alabama set a new program Division I record for longest unbeaten streak at seven matches. North Alabama has not lost a match since August 24 to Chattanooga. The Lions boast a record of 5-0-2 across the last seven matches. UNA broke the previous record, set last season when the squad opened up the 2022 season 3-0-3.
Best in the Nation: North Alabama has two players nationally ranked in statistical categories. Lion goalkeeper
Adriana Wright has six shutouts so far this season, which is tied for the most among any individual in all of Division I soccer. Lion forward
Alice Bussey has netted a game winning goal on four different occasions so far this season. That mark is tied for third in the NCAA, just one shy off the leader.
Squeaky Clean: The six clean sheets by UNA goalkeeper
Adriana Wright is just two shy of tying the North Alabama Division I record, which was set last season at eight. Wright has allowed just one goal in her last seven appearances, which came on a penalty kick. The Alabama-Huntsville transfer has stopped 18 shots across that stretch.
Run it Back: Earlier this season, the Lions set a new record for most consecutive scoreless minutes on defense at 391:17, stretching across five games from Chattanooga on August 24 to Southern Illinois on September 7. The Lions have tallied three consecutive scoreless matches since allowing a goal to Southern Illinois, making the current streak 295:02, just over 96 minutes away from tying the old record set just four matches prior.
