BIRMINGHAM – University of North Alabama libero Lauren Greenhill used a solid performance on the final weekend of the regular season to claim her fourth Gulf South Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week award this year. The junior from Florence averaged 5.67 digs per set in a pair of UNA sweeps at Flowers Hall.
With victories over West Alabama and West Georgia, the Lions closed out the regular season with a 19-8 record and head toward this weekend's GSC Tournament in Pensacola, Fla., as the No. 2 seed in the division.
Last week, Greenhill picked up 14 digs against UWA before recording 20 the next day against West Georgia. She also added and assist and four service aces in the two matches.
