CHATTANOOGA DOWNS MEN’S TENNIS

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., – Chattanooga clinched the doubles points with a tie-breaker, then swept doubles play to record a 7-0 home victory over the University of North Alabama men's tennis team on Friday. With the loss, UNA falls to 0-5 on the season.
 
Holding an early lead after a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles, the Mocs were able to secure the overall point with a victory at the top spot. UNA's Jason Pimenta and Andreas Hansen pushed the match to a 6-6 tie before Chattanooga's Kerim Hyatt and Simon Bustamante picked up a slim 8-6 win in the clinching set.
 
Chattanooga (1-3) recorded the team win by getting straight-set wins in singles play, clinching the match at the No. 2 spot.
 
UNA will play its sixth consecutive road match to open the season on Monday at Middle Tennessee. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m. in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
