UNA ATHLETICS JOINS ASP ACADEMY PROGRAM

North Alabama Athletics Joins ASP ACADEMY Program Launched to Expand Expert NIL Education, and Strategic Guidance

FLORENCE, Ala., October 27, 2022 – North Alabama Athletics has joined a new program from Altius Sports Partners – ASP ACADEMY – which offers blue-chip NIL advisory and education services at scale. ASP ACADEMY ensures that all institutional stakeholders are provided education, awareness, and support to maximize athlete NIL opportunities. Athletics departments at the University of Nevada, Oakland University, and Tulane University are among the other schools to participate.

Dr. Josh Looney, North Alabama Director of Athletics, stated: "As the newest Division I athletic department in the country and the fastest-growing University in the state, North Alabama prides itself on innovation and growth. Being at the forefront of the new ASP Academy aligns with our vision to provide Lion athletes, coaches and staff with direct access to NIL experts and the very best educational resources available in a constantly evolving environment. ASP Academy has made an immediate impact and positioned us for continued acceleration as a Division I institution."

As ASP continues to serve as an external NIL launch platform for dozens of prominent schools across the country, the ASP ACADEMY program is rooted in the principle of empowerment through education, fulfilling ASP's belief that reliable expert NIL guidance should be accessible to athletes and stakeholders at all levels of collegiate athletics. The program is led by Brittney Whiteside, ASP's VP of Collegiate Partnerships, with support from ASP's EVP of Collegiate Partnerships, Andrew Donovan.

Brittney Whiteside, ASP VP of Collegiate Partnerships, said: "We are thrilled to launch ASP Academy with our initial partners to provide our services at scale. As we enter year 2 of NIL, schools at all levels who are making the investment in providing best-in-class NIL support services and educational resources to athletes, coaches, staff and all other stakeholders will continue to be leaders in the space."

The program specifically created to support the NIL landscape of the institutions will offer access to ongoing education and advisory services from ASP's industry leading team for management of the developing NIL space in addition to delivery of dedicated educational workshops for institutional stakeholders.

ASP will work with each school to create a customized approach to developing, implementing, and maintaining NIL strategies and planning. The ASP team will infuse best practices and innovative strategies to engage the schools' internal and external stakeholders in the NIL space in a compliant manner. In addition to targeted training for coaches and staff, ASP ACADEMY will provide NIL education for athletes aimed at opportunity maximization and risk mitigation in addition to guidance on topics such as rules navigation and compliance, marketing, personal branding, finance, and evaluation of NIL opportunities.

ASP ACADEMY is an extension of ASP's program offerings, which are rooted in steering and keeping its university partners ahead of the curve and compliantly enhancing NIL activities for their athletes. As ASP implements its latest program, it will continue to support all school partners through an advisory role in addition to providing continuing innovative and strategic guidance on policy and initiatives and customized educational support.
