MONTGOMERY – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team put on a dominating performance Wednesday against Mississippi Valley State winning 7-0 while not losing a single point at Montgomery's Olean Black Underwood Center.. With the win UNA moves to 1-9 on the season.

Two quick wins in doubles play gave the Lions the early lead. Carlos Matarredona and Chris Zhang won 6-0 at No. 1 before Jamie Bixby and Sam Tolbert also posted a 6-0 victory at the No. 2 spot to clinch the doubles point.

In singles play, Matarredona, Zhang, Bixby, Tolbert, Fernando Herrera and Nazar Fedoryshyn all won their matches 6-0 to close out in dominating fashion to give the Lions their first win of the season.

UNA will play its next match against Austin Peay on Saturday, March 12. Match time is set for 2 p.m. at the Governors Tennis Center in Clarksville, Tenn.
