NOTES
CALLINS COMES INTO FORM: Senior guard Alexis Callins — who happens to be from Martin, Tenn. — scored a season-high in points against the Southern Miss Lady Eagles, finishing the game with 19 points on 7-12 shooting and hitting five of her nine attempted threes. Callins averaged 14.5 points last week, upping her season average to 12.8 points per game. She is currently 10th in the Atlantic Sun Conference in scoring (12.8 PPG).
SARA SERVING DIMES: Senior guard Sara Wohlgemuth has proven to be a key distributer in the Lions' offense and continues to lead the ASUN in assists per game with six. Her assists help UNA rank third in the ASUN in assists per game as a team (13.5), while also registering the third-best assist/turnover ratio in the league with 2.4.
LIONS FROM DOWNTOWN: The threes continue to rain for North Alabama, averaging the second-most threes in the conference with 8.5. Alexis Callins and freshman guard Chloe Siegel rank in the top 10 in the ASUN in threes made per game with 2.3 and 2.0, respectively. Siegel is also tied for the fourth-most three pointers made in a game this season with her five against Missouri on Nov. 14.
LIONS EARNING THEIR (CHARITY) STRIPES: Free throws continue to be a strength for the Lions, checking in with a 76.1 free throw percentage — leading the ASUN Conference. UNA has shot over 80 percent from the line in two of their four games and has finished with a higher free throw percentage than three out of the four opponents played so far this season.
MEETING HISTORY: North Alabama meets UT Martin for the 20th all-time meeting in program history and first meeting since 1992 when the Skyhawks and Lions were members of Division II's Gulf South Conference. In the last meeting on Jan. 23, 1992, UT Martin took a six-point victory at home in the second of two meetins that season. Despite a loss in the last meeting, UNA leads the all-time series with a 14-5 record. North Alabama last defeated the Skyhawks on Jan. 2, 1992 with a 13-point win at home.
