North Alabama announces partnership with Athlete’s Thread

FLORENCE, Ala. (November 28, 2023) – The University of North Alabama Department of Athletics officially announced a partnership with Athlete's Thread on Tuesday, providing an exciting opportunity for UNA student-athletes.

Athlete's Thread is a leading supplier of NIL merchandise, working with over 80 colleges and providing over 10,000 athletes with high-quality NIL merchandise and jerseys. They are committed to empowering student-athletes to leverage their NIL rights and create their own brand.

When partnering with Athlete's Thread, student-athletes earn 12 percent commissions on all merchandise sales, with the opportunity to earn an additional 10-15 percent commissions by sharing their affiliate link – a total of 22-27 percent. All partnerships are non-exclusive.

"Partnering with Athlete's Thread provides North Alabama student-athletes with additional opportunities to engage in the NIL space with UNA fans," said UNA Director of Athletics Dr. Josh Looney. "Whether it is through our access to blue-chip NIL advisory services with Altius Sports Partners, the launch and endorsement of the Lion's Share Collective or engaging with NIL innovators like Athlete's Thread, we will continue to create NIL pathways that best support our student-athletes and are committed to continue positioning UNA at the NIL forefront among FCS and Atlantic Sun Conference institutions."

A number of UNA student-athletes already have merchandise available, including personalized jerseys, sherseys and caricature merch. There are currently athletes registered representing UNA's baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, football, soccer and softball programs.
