NOTES

OPENING DAY MAGIC (x2): With the opening night win against UT Southern, North Alabama won their opening game for the third year in a row. UNA was one of the six Atlantic Sun teams that opened the season with a win along with Central Arkansas, EKU, FGCU, Jacksonville and Lipscomb.

THREE IS THE KEY: After finishing sixth in the nation in three-point shooting last season, North Alabama Women's Basketball picked up right where it left off by shooting 48.1% from three in the victory against the Firehawks. Going 13-27 behind the arc, the Lions lead the ASUN Conference in three-point shooting efficiency and are second in three-pointers made.

DROPPING DIMES: Senior Sara Wohlgemuth controlled the pace for the Lions Monday night, leading both teams in assists with six on the night. The effort also placed her atop the ASUN for assists after the first game of the season.

ALL HANDS ON DECK: It was a total team effort for UNA in the victory Monday night, with balance on the offensive and defensive end. Eleven players registered either a score or a rebound for North Alabama, including four players in double-digits and five players with at least five rebounds.

FIRST ENCOUNTER: Friday will mark the first meeting between the Lions and the Denver Pioneers. Denver competes at the NCAA Division I level as a member of the Summit League and has been competing in women's basketball since 1974, sporting a 721-670 all-time record. Denver is currently coached by Doshia Woods.
