DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The University of North Alabama men's basketball team is one of 16 chosen nationally to compete in the 2023 Discount Tire College Basketball Invitational, March 18-22 at the Ocean Center.

North Alabama, seeded 13th, will begin play in the 15th CBI on March 18 against fourth seeded Southern Utah at noon Central time.

The opening round and quarterfinal rounds will be broadcast on FloHoops. The semifinals and championship game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

The Lions posted the best record of their five-year Division I era, going 18-14 this season.

This will be UNA's first time to compete in a national post-season tournament on the Division I level.

In the other opening round games, top seeded Indiana State plays USC-Upstate, Eastern Kentucky plays Cleveland State, Duquesne takes on Rice,  San Jose State faces Southern Indiana, Tarleton State plays Radford, Charlotte plays Western Carolina and Stetson faces Milwaukee.

Tickets for the 2023 College Basketball Invitational will go on sale beginning January 27th at TicketMaster.com. Tickets may also be purchased at the Ocean Center box office on CBI game days.

Last year, UNC Wilmington won the 2022 CBI in a 96-90 double OT thriller over Middle Tennessee in the championship game.
