JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – With the doubles point and three singles wins, the University of North Alabama men's tennis team posted a 4-1 win over Queen's University of Charlotte in the opening round of the ASUN Conference Men's Tennis Tournament.
 
It was the first-ever post-season win for the UNA men on the Division I level and sends the Lions to the quarterfinals to face third seeded North Florida on Saturday at 10:00 a.m,
 
The No. 1 UNA doubles team of Carlos Matarredon and /Nazar Fedoryshyn remained undefeated in ASUN play with a win at No. 1 doubles, and Chris Zhang and Fedriccos Scotuzzi got the win at No. 3 doubles to give the Lions the double point.
 
In singles, Zhang got a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles and Scotuzzi won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5, putting the Lions within a point of the win. ASUN Freshman of the Year Lachlan Brain then delivered again as he took the win at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-4, to send the Lions on to the next round.
