JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (November 4, 2024) – For the fifth time this season, University of North Alabama freshman Reese Ricketts was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Volleyball Freshman of the Week by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Ricketts' first year in Florence continues to be a memorable one, as the rookie's consistent play nabs her the fifth freshman honor of the season. She was also named ASUN Player of the Week on Sept. 9, giving her six total weekly awards.

UNA's recent run of form has had many contributors, with Ricketts proving to be a key piece in a week of action against Central Arkansas and North Florida. The freshman contributed heavily in the home victory against UCA as the Lions split contests against the Sugar Bears and Ospreys.

Ricketts finished as the second-leading scorer for the Lions, totaling 36.5 points with 28 kills. The freshman also averaged a double-double with 20 assists for the week, averaging 14 kills and 10 assists per contest.

In the Lions' five-set win over Central Arkansas, Ricketts registered 18 kills and eight digs to go with four blocks (three solo) and three service aces. She nabbed her 13th double-double of the season against North Florida, totaling 10 kills, 12 digs and two solo blocks.

North Alabama next caps the home portion of the regular season Nov. 8 and Nov. 10, with contests against Austin Peay and Lipscomb in CB&S Bank Arena at Flowers Hall.
