JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (March 2, 2024) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team had a five-match win streak come to a close Saturday, as the Lions were defeated by Jacksonville State, 6-1, on the road in Jacksonville, Ala.

The Gamecocks came out of the gates strong by taking the doubles point before winning five of the six singles matches. Jacksonville State extended its own five-match win streak while ending UNA's in the process. JSU also leveled the series history with UNA at 30 wins apiece.

In singles, the Lions got a point from court five, where freshman Birtan Duran represented the defeated Matei Palcau in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

The Lions will look to return to their winning ways this Monday, March 4, when the Lions host Mississippi Valley State at the UNA Tennis Complex. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
