UNA Football announces summer camps

Lions to hold various camp dates in June and July

FLORENCE, Ala. (May 17, 2024) – Summer is almost here, as the University of North Alabama football program announced a variety of camps on the horizon in June and July. Six of the eight camps will be in Florence, while the other two are satellite camps within the state of Alabama.
 
The camps will be led by UNA head coach Brent Dearmon and his coaching staff. The camps are open to all, limited by number, age, grade level and gender.
 
The month of June includes four camps, starting with "Kids Night Out" on Friday, June 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex (UNA Football Practice Field). Parents are encouraged to take a date night while their children learn valuable football skills and drills.
 
The 2024 Brent Dearmon QB Camp is set for Monday, June 10 starting at 11 a.m. at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex. This camp is designed for high school quarterbacks interested in film breakdown, coverage recognition and individual quarterback drills.
 
The Lions will hold two Brent Dearmon High School Elite Camp in Florence this summer, geared toward all positions. The first is set for Friday, June 14 at Braly Stadium. The second one will take place Saturday, July 13. There will also be satellite camps at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. on July 9 and at the Wetumpka Sportsplex in the Montgomery, Ala. area on July 10.
 
"We signed 12 players that came to our camps last year," said Dearmon. "Being able to be hands on with prospects is a huge deal to our staff. We look forward to working with upcoming Lions this year."
 
The 2024 Brent Dearmon's Future Lions Youth Football Camp is set for June 17-18 at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex and is designed for ages 6-12. This camp will teach fundamentals of football and includes fun activities for the youth. This will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days and lunch will be provided.
 
The current camp dates round out in mid-July, starting with the Brent Dearmon Specialist Camp on Thursday, July 11. This camp will be led by UNA Special Teams Coordinator Luke Roth and will be hosted at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex.
 
The Shoals Shootout 7-on-7 set for Friday, July 12 at the Florence Sportsplex. This will allow high school football teams to compete in 7-on-7 against others from the Southeast Region.
