FLORENCE, Ala. (August 29, 2024) – The University of North Alabama Department of Athletics announced a new multi-year partnership with Medical Associates of the Shoals on Thursday, making Medical Associates of the Shoals the preferred partner of Lion Athletics for primary and urgent care.
 
This partnership provides easy access to student-athletes for primary care services, urgent care needs and specialties that fall beyond the scope of our orthopedic physician.
 
"Partnering with Medical Associates of the Shoals is a massive win for North Alabama student-athletes," said UNA Director of Athletics Dr. Josh Looney. "This is an important next step in our commitment to provide UNA student-athletes with comprehensive medical care and direct access to top-tier health professionals. The care and professionalism our student-athletes will receive at Medical Associates of the Shoals will be second to none."
 
As part of the new partnership, Medical Associates of the Shoals will sponsor the 2024 Football Kickoff Kid at UNA home football games this season. At each home game, one lucky contestant between the ages of 6 and 12 will enjoy the opportunity to be on the sideline pre-game and retrieve the kickoff tee.
 
Each winner will receive four game tickets, pre-game sideline access for the kickoff kid and a guardian, as well as a UNA Athletics T-Shirt.

Medical Associates of the Shoals has four locations in the area, including three primary care offices and two express care clinics. One of those locations sits at 2735 Cloverdale Road in Florence, just seven minutes from campus, and is available for primary care and express care.
