COLUMBIA, Mo. (December 21, 2025) – The University of North Alabama women's basketball team concluded non-conference play Sunday afternoon with an 84-57 road defeat to the Missouri Tigers of the SEC in Columbia, Mo.
North Alabama (5-6) was led on offense by the trio of freshman Greta Ramon, sophomore Venla Ulander and senior India Howard.
Ramon secured her highest point total of the season, leading with 12 points. Ulander landed her third double-digit scoring output of the season with 11 points. Howard rounded out the Lions' scoring leaders with 10 points on an efficient 5-8 shooting (62.5 percent).
Senior Alyssa Clutter led North Alabama with a team-high nine rebounds – her highest single-game total of the season. Freshman Gabby Jackson additionally had a solid game on the boards with seven rebounds followed by six from junior Katie Criswell.
Senior Alexsandra Alvarado totaled a leading five assists, and senior Jazzy Klinge set a new single-game career high with five steals.
The Lions competed early before Missouri (11-3) pulled away using consistent and efficient scoring. A back-and-forth start in the first quarter had the game at 7-7 before the Tigers took a 23-13 lead at the end of the quarter.
A defensive quarter ensued in the second period. UNA held Missouri to its lowest shooting percentages of any quarter at 35.7 percent and 11.1 percent from three. The Tigers maintained a 38-20 advantage at halfway mark.
The second half saw improved offensive output from North Alabama.
UNA had its best shooting quarter in the third, scoring 19 points on 43.8 percent shooting. The Lions and the Tigers equaled shooting percentages in the period, but Missouri continued to hold the lead, 61-39.
North Alabama continued to compete in the fourth with 18-quarter points. UNA secured a game-high eight field goals in the frame, but the Tigers closed the game out securing an 84-57 final score.
North Alabama opens Atlantic Sun Conference play on New Year's Day, facing FGCU at 1 p.m. CT in Fort Myers, Fla.
