JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 29, 2025) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced the 2024-25 men's and women's basketball schedules for the league on Tuesday, as the University of North Alabama women's team opens the 18-game conference slate on the road on January 1, 2026.
North Alabama will play two games a week, with the majority of contests played on a Thursday and Saturday. The schedule consists of seven home-and-away contests against league opponents with single-game matchups against North Florida, Jacksonville, Austin Peay and Lipscomb.
Similar to the 2024-25 season, UNA will also have one lone midweek game on a Wednesday when the Lions host Austin Peay on Feb. 4.
The Lions are entering their second season under head coach Candi Whitaker. North Alabama won 13 games during the 2024-25 season while clinching a berth in the ASUN Conference Tournament. UNA won eight games in conference play with wins over Bellarmine, Jacksonville, Stetson, North Florida, Queens, West Georgia and Central Arkansas — who finished second in the league.
"We look forward to the challenge of the upcoming conference schedule," said Whitaker. "The ASUN continues to be a competitive league, and we know that we'll be ready come January."

NOTES
WEEK 1 – NEW YEAR'S ROADTRIP: The Lions will ring in the new year with a two-game road slate against FGCU and Stetson. UNA faces the Eagles in Fort Myers, Fla. on Jan. 1, followed by the Hatters in DeLand, Fla. on Jan. 3. According to available records, this marks the first time the women's basketball program will play a game on New Year's Day in the modern era.
WEEK 2 – SHOALS SHOWDOWN AT HOME: The week of Jan. 8-10 sees the Lions opening the home portion of conference play against EKU and Bellarmine in CB&S Bank Arena. North Alabama saw action against both teams once during the 2024-25 season, with UNA taking a 90-89 overtime win at Bellarmine on Jan. 2.
WEEK 3 – ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Lions will travel back to Florida from Jan. 15-17, taking on North Florida and Jacksonville in road matchups. UNA swept the Ospreys in two games and split contests against the Dolphins. North Alabama faced Jacksonville in the home ASUN opener last season, defeating the Dolphins in a 73-57 victory.
WEEK 4 – AWAY TO CONWAY: Week four opens with the first of two games against Queens on the season as the Royals visit CB&S Bank Arena on Jan. 22. The Lions then set off to Conway, Ark. for a Saturday, Jan. 24. bout at Central Arkansas. UNA looks to remain undefeated at home against the Royals, including an 87-62 win in Florence last season. North Alabama goes for second win in a row against the Sugar Bears while seeking its first road win at UCA since 2023.
WEEK 5 – FLORIDA HOME STAND: The month of January concludes with North Alabama facing both Stetson and FGCU in the second games of the home-and-away series. The Lions take on the Hatters on Jan. 29 and end against the Eagles on Jan. 31. UNA defeated Stetson at home in a 75-57 victory last season.
WEEK 6 – QUEST TO THE QUEEN CITY: The Lions will host a Wednesday game in CB&S Bank Arena against the Austin Peay Governors on Feb. 4. Three days later, North Alabama travels to Charlotte for their second season matchup against Queens on Saturday, Feb. 7. The Royals matchup marks the start of a four-game road trip for the Lions.
WEEK 7 – FROM CARROLLTON TO RICHMOND: Week seven sees the Lions embark on road trips to West Georgia and EKU. UNA opens the week in Carrollton, Ga. against the Wolves on Feb. 12, followed by a trip to Richmond, Ky. against the Colonels on Feb. 14. North Alabama looks to claim their second win against West Georgia in the Division I era and first on the road. The Lions also look to beat the Colonels for the first time on the road since 2022.
WEEK 8 – ENDING STRONG ON THE ROAD: North Alabama will play its final regular season road game at Bellarmine on Thursday, Feb. 19. Two days later, UNA begins a three-game home slate to end the season versus Lipscomb on Saturday, Feb. 21.
WEEK 9 – THE FINALE AT HOME: The final two regular-season contests find the Lions facing Central Arkansas and West Georgia in Florence on Feb. 25 and Feb. 27, respectively. UNA ended the 2024-25 regular season with a 66-56 win over the Sugar Bears, claiming their first home win over Central Arkansas since 2023. North Alabama defeated West Georgia at home, 82-73, on Feb. 1, 2025. This also marked the first meeting between the two classic rivals since 2018.
WEEK 10 – ASUN TOURNAMENT TIME: The conference tournament will take place from March 3-9 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla. This will mark a new era for ASUN Basketball, as the league has one neutral site for both the men's and women's tournament for the first time since 2013.
