JACKSONVILLE (September 8, 2025) – University of North Alabama sophomore Kinslee McGowan and freshman Jenna Kolosta were named the Atlantic Sun Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively, by the league office on Monday afternoon.

The second week of the season saw UNA earned its first two awards after big performances from McGowan and Kolosta. The honors marked the first each of their careers, with McGowan's award marking the first in Division I program history. Kolosta's accolade continues a long line of ASUN weekly freshman awards for UNA with the 13th in program history.

McGowan had a strong week in four matches against Alabama A&M, Tennessee Tech, USC Upstate and UAB. The sophomore finished the week with 178 assists, averaging 44.5 per match and 10.47 per set. She also tallied the match high in assists in all four matches.

McGowan opened with a career performance against Alabama A&M, tallying a season-high 49 assists while surpassing the 500-career assist mark. She followed with 41 assists against Tennessee Tech, 46 against USC Upstate and 42 against UAB. Her weekly totals include 31 digs, 14 kills, seven blocks and five service aces.

Kolosta's week resulted in 26 kills on a .321 hitting percentage, 13 blocks, nine digs and two assists. The freshman set new marks in kills, blocks and digs, including a new high in kills with 10 against UAB. The Lockport, Ill. native registered five blocks against UAB and tied her career high with three digs against USC Upstate.

Kolosta was a force at the net all week, leading the match with four blocks against Tennessee Tech. She led the team with three blocks against USC Upstate, finishing third on the team with five blocks against UAB.

McGowan, Kolosta and the Lions open the week on Tuesday, Sept. 9, hosting the Samford Bulldogs in the season home opener at 6 p.m.
