FLORENCE, Ala. (January 9, 2026) – University of North Alabama Director of Tennis Olaya Garrido-Rivas and Men's Tennis Coach Aitor Reparaz officially released the Spring 2026 men's tennis schedule on Friday, Jan. 9.
The schedule consists of 23 match days, with seven home matches, 16 away/neutral matches and the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Tennis Championship in April.
"I can't wait to jump back to the courts on the 16th," said Reparaz. "We have a very challenging season ahead of us. We play a lot of matches on the road and against very good competition. I'm super excited for the season to come, and we have a good group of talented players. Roar Lions!"
North Alabama opens the season against SEC foe Ole Miss on Jan. 16. UNA follows its opener with the ITA Kickoff Weekend from Jan. 23-24 against host school Ohio State, Purdue and Old Dominion in Columbus, Ohio.
Next month begins with a trip to Samford on Feb. 3, followed by bouts against Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State on Feb. 6. A matchup against Lamar falls on Feb. 7, then the road trip continues on Feb. 13 and 14, respectively, against Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State.
UNA's home opener against ASUN foe Austin Peay will take place Feb. 20, beginning a stretch of five-straight bouts at the UNA Tennis Courts. North Alabama faces Tennessee State in Florence on Feb. 21 before playing EKU on Feb. 27 and Troy on Feb. 28.
The Lions kick off March with a home meeting against Bellarmine on March 9. In-state rival Jacksonville State is set to host UNA on March 13 with another in-state matchup against Alabama A&M on March 15. The month concludes against Georgia Southern and Stetson on March 25 and 27, respectively.
The final two regular season home matches are set for April 4-5. North Alabama faces Southern Miss on April 4, followed by Senior Day against UAB on April 5. The regular season concludes at Lipscomb on April 7 and Vanderbilt on April 11.
The 2026 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship will be hosted by FGCU from April 14-18 in Fort Myers, Fla.
UNA heads into Spring 2026 looking to build on a monumental 2025 season. The Lions finished with a 20-4 record and a perfect 10-0 record in the ASUN, winning the regular season conference crown. The season also culminated in Reparaz being named the program's first conference coach of the year by the ASUN.
UNA claimed its first ASUN Tournament Championship by knocking off Stetson, 4-1, in the final — the school's first Division I postseason title in any sport.
The Lions also appeared in their first Division I NCAA Tournament last season and faced Michigan State in the first round. The team finished with its highest ITA ranking in school history at No. 63 in the final season poll.
