VICKSBURG, Miss. (February 7, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team continued its strong weekend Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 sweep against Lamar in neutral site action in Vicksburg, Miss.

North Alabama (2-4) secured a second straight victory with a second-straight sweep.

Lamar (2-7) made it a competitive bout to start, but the Lions held strong to take the doubles point early on. Flights four, five and six for North Alabama powered through to seal the sweep in the first-ever meeting between the teams.

The Cardinals began fast with a top-flight, 6-1 win from Maxwell Lindstedt and Leon Nickel over juniors Izan Orgiles and Alex Despoja. Senior Lachlan Brain and sophomore Samu Dominguez tied doubles with an ensuing 6-1 win from court three over Axel Bergh and Guy Dugan.

The deciding match from court two went into a tiebreak, but junior Alberto Altur and sophomore Satoru Nakajima secured UNA's doubles point in a 7-6 (7-2) triumph over Fabian Anthin and Vicente Monge.

Despoja, along with sophomores Samu Dominguez and Nakajima, shined in their respective singles bouts.

Dominguez began with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Anthin from court four. Despoja rebounded from doubles with a strong 6-2, 6-1 victory from court five against Louis Drapeau. Nakajima doubled his win tally for the day and sealed the road win in a 6-1, 6-4 victory vs. Stefano Chappuis from court six.
