JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (March 12, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team embarks on a two-dual roadtrip starting Friday, March 13 with weekend action at Jacksonville State and Alabama A&M.
The first two of four-straight matchups on the road, the Lions open against the Gamecocks on Friday on the Jax State Tennis Courts. UNA closes the weekend vs. the Bulldogs on Sunday, March 15 from the Alabama A&M Tennis Courts. Both duals are set to begin at 1 p.m.

SCOUTING THE LIONS: North Alabama captured its 13th-straight win over Atlantic Sun Conference competition last time out, defeating Bellarmine, 6-1, on March 9 in Florence, Ala. The Lions increased their win rates in both singles and doubles with the win, sporting a 61.8 rate in singles and 52.9 rate in doubles. Junior Alberto Altur continues to lead with eight singles victories, followed by senior Lachlan Brain (7) and a two-way tie between freshman Benjamin Meyers and junior Izan Orgiles (6). Altur and Brain both lead in doubles wins with six each.
SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE STATE: The Gamecocks are 11-2 on the season and currently ride a four-dual winning streak. Last time out, Jacksonville State swept Chattanooga on March 10. The Gamecocks are strong in both singles and doubles, winning singles at a 75.4 percent rate and a 64.5 percent rate in doubles. David Krasner leads the team with 10 singles wins and ties Lucius Soller with seven doubles victories. Micheal Helms is the head coach for Jacksonville State.
SERIES HISTORY: The Lions and Gamecocks meet for the 62nd time this season with UNA leading 31-30. North Alabama has claimed three of the last four meetings, tallying two wins in 2023 and the last meeting in 2025. UNA defeated Jacksonville State at home, 4-2, on March 10, 2025.
SCOUTING ALABAMA A&M: The Bulldogs sport a 3-8 record on the season with a 2-0 record in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Alabama A&M dropped their last outing vs. Middle Tennessee on March 11 but won two-straight prior with 4-0 sweeps over Mississippi Valley State and Southern on March 5 and 6, respectively. Eduardo de Benedictis Andreta leads the team with eight total wins – owning four each in singles and doubles. The Bulldog's head coach is Willis Mbandi.
SERIES HISTORY: The matchup is the 34th meeting in the all-time series. North Alabama leads the series, 32-1, and has won the last four straight. Alabama A&M's first and only win came on March 19, 2019.
