JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 17, 2026) – University of North Alabama junior Izan Orgiles was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Orgiles nabbed the Lions' second conference weekly award of the season after a four-win week vs. Bellarmine, Jacksonville State and Alabama A&M. The junior excelled in singles, taking all three of his matches while tallying a doubles win vs. Bellarmine.

This marks the second honor of his career and the first since Feb. 21, 2024.

Orgiles started with two wins against Bellarmine, first claiming a 6-3 doubles win with partner Alberto Altur from flight one against Eli Wood and Ryan Parkins. He continued against the Knights with a 6-3, 6-2 singles win over Wood from flight two.

Against Jacksonville State, he fended off Aman Dahiya in singles with a hard-fought 6-0, 6-7 (1-7), 1-0 (10-7) triumph from flight three. Orgiles concluded the week with a 6-2, 6-4 singles win from flight three against Alabama A&M's Tasso Moreira.

Orgiles looks to continue his strong play next time out, with the Lions traveling to face Georgia Southern on Wednesday, March 25 at noon CT.
