STATESBORO, Ga. (March 25, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team fell 4-2 Wednesday afternoon in competitive road action against Georgia Southern from Statesboro, Ga.

North Alabama (9-8) dropped the hard-fought bout from Statesboro but made it a battle against the Eagles. Georgia Southern claimed the doubles point after splitting the first and second courts with North Alabama. Juniors Alberto Altur and Izan Orgiles forced the deciding doubles bout with the Eagles, eventually taking the early advantage.

Georgia Southern (8-6) saw the dual out with three singles victories, but Orgiles and senior Lachlan Brain tallied victories in their respective solo matches. Altur and Orgiles won their fourth doubles contest of the season Orgiles totaled his ninth singles win. Brain improved to 8-2 in singles play to round out the winners from Georgia Southern.

The Eagles opened the dual with a doubles win from court two followed by Altur and Orgiles' win from court one. The duo defeated Gregoire Delattre and Davis Taylor, 6-2, to force the decider from court three. Brain and sophomore Samu Dominguez fell from the third court to Willy Mirarchi and Matthew Mitchell, 6-3.

Georgia Southern won first in singles from court six, but Orgiles responded with a 6-0, 6-4 victory from court three vs. Taylor. The Eagles earned their third team point from court five before Brain claimed UNA's second point by defeating Albert Saar, 6-0, 6-4, from flight one.

The Eagles' winning point came from court two after Delattre defeated Altur, 6-3, 7-5.
