FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 19, 2026) – North Alabama Men's Tennis junior Alberto Altur was named to the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference All-Tournament Team by the league office on Saturday, April 18 following the conclusion of the ASUN Championship.
Altur collects his third postseason honor and first all-tournament team selection. The junior was previously named a First Team All-ASUN selection along with earning Doubles Pair of the Year with partner Izan Orgiles.
The junior earned three wins in the tournament and was crucial in the Lions advancing to the semifinal round.
In the quarterfinal round against Abilene Christian, Altur provided clinching wins in both singles and doubles. He and Orgiles secured an important doubles point from flight one after defeating Merse Deli and Ethan Scribner, 7-5. In singles, Altur staved off a 5-4 deficit in the second set to force a third against the Wildcats' Tomas Quesada from flight two. He went on to defeat Quesada in three sets, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
North Alabama fell in a 4-3 heartbreaker to Stetson in the semifinals, but Altur provided a key win in the competitive bout. The junior staved off the Hatters' Christian Kuehne with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 win from flight two. The victory was one of two-straight UNA wins against Stetson after trailing 3-1 on team points.
The three wins added to Altur's season totals, increasing his team lead in both singles and doubles wins. He added his 14th and 15th singles win and 12th doubles triumph.
Stetson secured three selections after claiming their first tournament title in a 4-3 win over North Florida. The Hatters' Christian Kuehne, Xavier Sarda Marti and Alexandre Verlaguet earned nods to the team along with FGCU's Pablo Paternostro and North Florida's Andreas Scott. Kuehne was named the Tournament MVP.
