FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (April 29, 2026) – Former University of North Alabama wide receiver and return specialist Logan Collier received a rookie min-icamp invite for the second straight season, as the New England Patriots extended an offer on Monday.
Collier, who played for the Lions in 2024, is the second Lion to receive a rookie mini-camp invite this offseason following the 2026 NFL Draft. The other is tight end
Kaleb Heatherly, who was invited by the Indianapolis Colts this past weekend.
"We are excited for Logan to get a chance to compete at such a high level with a championship-caliber franchise like the Patriots," said UNA head coach
Brent Dearmon.
In the last three seasons, three Lions have been invited to a rookie minicamp. Former defensive lineman
Philip Ossai was invited by the Atlanta Falcons in 2024. Collier originally received an invite from the Buffalo Bills in 2025. He and Heatherly are on the list in 2026.
Since 1954, 70 players from UNA have been drafted or signed by an NFL team.
In his pro day last year, Collier ran a 4.36 time in the 40-yard dash to rank among the fastest players in the 2025 class. He also scored a 9.55 out of 10.00 on his relative athletic score test, ranking "elite" for his composite explosion and composite speed. This ranks 173rd of 3,815 wide receivers that have entered the NFL Draft between 1987 and 2025.
Collier played one season with the Lions as a wide receiver and return specialist, returning 11 kickoffs for 249 yards and seven punts for 41 yards. His longest return was a 44-yard kick return against nationally-ranked Illinois State on Sept. 7, 2024.
Prior to UNA, Collier was an NAIA All-American at Lindsey Wilson College. He is the school's all-time leader in kick return touchdowns and finished with 1,090 all-purpose yards in 2023, ranking ninth in school history. He led LWC to the 2020 NAIA National Championship.
The Patriots finished 14-3 last season and made it to Super Bowl LX this season, falling to the Seattle Seahawks. The Pats defeated the Chargers, Texans and Broncos in the playoffs to win the AFC Championship.
